An Inspiring Story of Courage and Strength
As we approach Christmas and the end of 2019 it's the ideal time to reflect and prepare for the new year ahead. Whilst we reflect on our lives, there will be many things we are grateful for, as well as those we take for granted. Putting yourself in someone else's shoes is not always easy to do but when we immerse ourselves in a story, especially a real-life story we learn so much about the life of someone else. Twice-Rescued Child is the ideal book to do just that.
Christmas is a great time to look back over the year and reflect on ourselves and the challenges that we have faced and overcome. It is a time to see how much we have grown as a result of this overcoming.
It is also a time to be grateful for a number of things that we take for granted too often, like family health and the gift that is life itself.
One of our recently published books that touches on life and its preciousness is, in fact, Twice Rescued Child.
Twice-Rescued Child tells the story of the boy who fled the Nazis and found his life’s purpose. It is about someone who, by the grace of God, is given a second chance at life. Little did this little boy know that he would be rescued not once, but twice:
“At eight years old, I would be riding on a train today, leaving Czechoslovakia behind and travelling to the UK.”
This is an inspiring story of courage and strength, of hope and faith. It is a story of being in a position in life where giving up is extremely easy, yet still refusing to bow down to life’s hardships. His actions span decades across time, and shows how one can be saved through faith in Christ - resultantly dedicating his life to missionary efforts. After having read this life-changing book, the reader will be completely re-energised into the new year with newfound hope and inspiration.
‘“You’ll go to England for two months,” Mom had told me as we had prepared and packed. “And when Hitler leaves you can return home, and we’ll all be together again.” Everything had to be done in secret though. The Germans could not find out that I would be leaving or where I was to go.’
Twice-Rescued Child is available now.
Aged eight, Thomas Graumann excitedly boarded a train in Prague, Czechoslovakia, to embark on what he believed was a three-month holiday. “Go to Britain, learn English, and when the Germans leave, you can come home again,” his mother assured him. Thomas carried two suitcases and a bag of food. At the time he knew his country had been taken over by the Germans and now was under Nazi control. That was the last he would see of his mother and most of his Jewish family, who died in concentration camps.
