Book Launch on the Thames with Cole Moreton

Join Cole Moreton aboard the Tamesis for the London launch of his book The Light Keeper. If you're situated on the South Coast there's a few other events to keep in your diary too. Find out more in this blog post taken from Cole's latest newsletter.

I'd love you to come and help me launch The Light Keeper. There's only a week to go until publication day now, so I hope you've pre-ordered your copy, but I promised free stuff and today I want to give you tickets to events I've got coming up.

The London launch will be a party on a boat, moored on the Thames. That's on Thursday 5th September from 7pm. I'll read from The Light Keeper, tell some of the stories behind the book and sing a few of the songs written in response to the novel by myself and my musician friend David Perry.

The Tamesis is a gorgeous, quirky floating venue that has played host to many great gigs over the years, with views up towards the Houses of Parliament. It’s five minutes walk from Vauxhall station, for both underground and overground trains. We have the lower deck for our event until 9pm, but I'll be hanging around for a drink after that too. Tickets are free to you but they are limited in number, so please sign up right away. I'm inviting you before I let anyone else know.

RESERVE YOUR TICKETS NOW.

Here are some other dates for your diary. Please come.

If you're on the South Coast and fancy something quirky, I'll be telling stories, reading extracts and singing songs at the Wish Tower on Eastbourne sea front on August 30 from 7pm. That's a rare opportunity to see things happen inside a unique building. Get your free tickets here.

Friday September 13 is the date of the tiny gig in the Lantern Room of the Belle Tout lighthouse, at noon. I'll be giving away a pair of tickets to someone on the mailing list on publication day - but even more exciting, also choosing at random the winner of the competition to win a double room to stay in the lighthouse on 13 September too.

The following day, Saturday September 14, I'll be appearing at Waterstones in Hastings from noon. Just turn up for that one.

And the other thing to say is that if you are coming to the Greenbelt Festival over the August Bank Holiday, I'll be reading extracts, telling stories and singing in the Canopy Venue from 5.45pm on the Sunday. Sorry, can't get you in to the festival for nothing, but if you are there anyway, the gig is of course free.

So that's it for now. More news and dates soon. Thanks for being interested, your support is really appreciated. If you do get a copy of the book, please, please, please stick up a review on Amazon or Goodreads or let people know about it on social media. That would really help. It's hard to get a story out there these days so I really appreciate the support of friends like you.

Love and strength to you,

Cole

The Light Keeper

The Light Keeper is a story of love, hope, grief, faith and longing, set in the stunning landscape around Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters. A young woman stands on the brink, arms open wide as if to let the world carry her away. She’s come to the high cliffs to be alone, to face the truth about her life, to work out what to do. Her lover Jack is searching, desperate to find her before it is too late. But Sarah doesn’t want to be found. Not yet. Not by him. And someone else is seeking answers up here, where the seabirds soar - a man known only as the Keeper, living in an old lighthouse right on the cusp of a four-hundred-foot drop. He is all too aware that sometimes love takes you to the edge …
