Can you tell us a bit about Good Night World? Who is it for? And how do you expect it to be used?

Goodnight World takes the reader on a journey around the world saying goodnight to the animals as they settle down to sleep in their different habitats. The book visits the rainforests, grasslands, deserts, oceans, even the Arctic, and encourages children to consider the importance of caring for the world. It is great for teaching children about animals and is a perfect bedtime story!

How and why is this book different to other children’s books on Creation?

This is a beautifully illustrated rhyming book which combines facts about the animal’s sleeping patterns and their habitats with a gentle rhythm that engages the children. It encourages the children to see the wonderful diversity of God’s creation and the importance of caring for the world. It gently encourages the younger reader to play their part in taking responsibility for this.

Finally, what is your favourite animal from the book?

I love the faces of the seals as they sleep on the ice and also the little baby monkey cuddled up on the tree branches! However, my favourite is probably the adventurous little bush baby who pops up on different pages of the book for children to spot. The illustrator Patrick Corrigan has a beautiful way of bringing all the animals to life.
