SPCK Authors at Spring Harvest Home
From 13th to 17th April Spring Harvest will be delivered direct to your living room via a free online conference on YouTube. Many SPCK authors are taking part in Spring Harvest Home and you will be able to find out more about them in this blog post. You will also find here the latest edition of SPCK Today which is a special Spring Harvest edition. It's full of extracts and interviews with the Spring Harvest speakers as well as news on our charitable programmes.
From 13th to 17th April Spring Harvest will be delivered direct to your living room via a free online conference on YouTube. With morning Bible teaching, live worship, specialist seminars and workshops this event is suitable for the whole family.
Many SPCK authors were due to speak at the physical event and many are still particpating in the online conference. If you would like to learn more about the speakers and SPCK authors you can find them listed below.
Finally we would like to draw your attention to our special Spring Harvest edition of SPCK Today. Elaine Storkey
Elaine Storkey is a philosopher, sociologist and theologian, having held posts at the Open University, King’s College, London, and the University of Oxford. In 1997 she became President of Tearfund, and has since been involved in monitoring aid, relief and advocacy work in countries of the Global South. In 2010 she and her husband Alan became founder members of Restored, an organisation committed to advocating against violence to women.
Anne Calver
Anne Calver is a Baptist minister, speaker and author. Together they have two children, and live in Stanmore, Middlesex.
Cathy Madavan
Cathy is a popular speaker, valued for her humour, vulnerability and wisdom, who travels extensively, predominantly in the UK but also further afield. She has been speaking with Care for the Family on their regular national tours for over 10 years. She contributes regularly to events such as Spring Harvest and New Wine; she also speaks at leadership conferences, events and churches throughout the year. She is a writer, and a personal coach. Cathy serves on the board of the Kyria Network (a network of women in leadership/women of influence).
Ed Walker
Ed’s background is as a humanitarian aid worker with Tearfund. He worked for nine years in war and drought and countries with high malnutrition, working mainly with displaced populations. Countries he worked included: Burundi, Sierra Leone, Liberia, South Sudan, Darfur, Northern Kenya. His final post was as Director of Tearfund’s largest ever programme in Darfur where he was responsible for 400 staff working in one of the world’s most dangerous operating environments.
Justin Brierley
Justin Brierley is presenter of Premier Christian Radio’s Unbelievable? podcast. He also Senior Editor of Premier Christianity Magazine. Justin splits his time between radio presenting, editing and serving in his local church. He enjoys finding fresh ways to create conversations about faith through programmes, videos and articles that bring theology into the real world.
John Sentamu
The Most Revd and Rt Hon Dr John Sentamu has been Archbishop of York since 2005. Prior to that he was appointed Bishop for Stepney in 1996 and Bishop for Birmingham in 2002. His previous publications include On Rock or Sand? Firm Foundations for Britain’s Future (SPCK, 2015).
Bob Hartman
Bob Hartman has an international reputation as a storyteller and writer. He has entertained audiences on both sides of the Atlantic, including performances at the Edinburgh International Book Festival and Northern Children’s Book Festival. His many titles for children include The Lion Storyteller Bible, which has sold over 140,000 copies in the UK since its first publication in 1995. It has been translated into over 11 languages and spawned a number of spin-off titles. Born in the USA, Bob now lives in Wiltshire.
Jo Saxton
Jo Saxton is a popular leadership trainer, international speaker, and author who is passionate about seeing Jesus transform lives across the globe. She has been featured at IF: Gathering, Catalyst, Thrive, and Propel conferences. Jo also chairs the board of an international discipleship organization, known as 3D Movements, serves on the advisory board for Today’s Christian Woman, and co-hosts the LeadStories podcast. Jo and her husband, Chris, live in the Minneapolis area with their two daughters.

Mark Crosby
Mark Crosby is the Director of Communications for Vineyard Churches UK & Ireland and serves at Cardiff Vineyard church. He oversees communications for the Vineyard movement, including web, social media, resources, films, new platform application, training, and creative and strategic direction. He also works on all national events. Mark trains churches in Europe and USA on healthy communications as part of his role, whilst also consulting for Vineyard International.

Rhidian Brook
Rhidian Brook is an award-winning writer of fiction, television drama and film. His novels have been translated into 25 languages. His third novel, The Aftermath (Penguin, 2013), was made into a feature film starring Keira Knightley. His latest novel, The Killing of Butterfly Joe (Picador), was published in 2018.
Richard Harries
Richard Harries is both a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and an Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Among his many highly commended books are Haunted by Christ (SPCK, 2018), The Beauty and the Horror (SPCK. 2016), , The Re-enchantment of Morality (SPCK, 2008), shortlisted for the Michael Ramsey Prize, and Art and the Beauty of God (Continuum, 1993), selected as book of the year by Anthony Burgess in The Observer.
